Ricoh Caplio 500SE Digital Camera To Support Geo Imaging


Ricoh has just upgraded its Caplio SE500 digital camera with support for geo imaging. Now it can automatically embed GPS coordinates within captured photos and videos, as well as organize seamless transfer of pictures and data to mapping software. Users can also tag their media with some related information, for further usage in any GIS system as an additional attributes. As for the specs, the camera sports an 8 megapixel CCD sensor, Bluetooth, and even WiFI for wireless photo transfer.

Canon PowerShot A550 and A460 Digital Cameras


Canon announced two new digital cameras, under its PowerShot brand, which looks almost the same — PowerShot A550 and PowerShot A460 models. I said both cameras look the same because almost the whole specs are similar. They feature a 4x optical zoom lens, a 2-inch colors LCD display, a SD/MMC/SDHC card slot, and a replaceable standard AA batteries. And not just the specs, both digicams would also hit the market in February.

Now let’s check out the differences. Canon PowerShot A460, priced at $150, has a 5 megapixel CCD sensor; while the PowerShot A550 digital camera sports a 7.1 megapixel CCD sensor and a video recording capability at 30fps. The price is $50 higher, $200.

Samsung S850 Digital Camera


This compact point-and-shoot digital camera boasts an 8 megapixel image sensor, a 5x optical zoom lens, a shutter speed of an effective 1/2000 sec, an ISO equivalent of 1600, and a 20MB onboard memory with SD card slot (up to 4GB supported) to store more photos and videos.
